I have to say; this story I stumbled upon actually speaks volumes to me. In Iceland, people exchange books on Christmas Eve and spend the evening reading them and indulging in chocolates. This traditions flows into their tradition of “Jolabokaflod” which is considered a time when the country sells an very large quantity of books. In a world where we are running like crazy, spending a fortune and quite honestly buying our kids things they simply “do not need” I am sort of wanting to uproot my family to Iceland before next holiday season. Or quite possibly it may be easier to just practice “Jolabokaflod” in my house. What do you all think?
