KFC is celebrating summer, and want’s you to as well. The signature KFC Colonel is now available as a limited-edition pool floatie, and they want you to have one.
The KFC Colonel floatie is a full-size lounger perfect for any Kentucky Fried Chicken® lover. It has a holder for both a drink and a KFC bucket of your favorite style chicken.
This latest KFC treasure follows the release of their Crispy Colonel sandwich, which is made with a classic hand-breaded chicken filet. Andrea Zahumensky, KFC U.S. CMO explained, “We want this to be the best summer ever, so it wasn’t enough for us to bring back George Hamilton as the Extra Crispy Colonel and debut a superior, craveable fried chicken sandwich that stands above the rest.“ She continued, “We wanted to create the perfect vessel for enjoying the Crispy Colonel sandwich (or a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken). Enter the KFC Colonel floatie.”
Inspired by the millions of pool float selfies surfing social media, Zahumensky and the KFC team thought the Colonel Floatie was a perfect fit for their “Extra Crispy lifestyle campaign.” She commented that “Summer is about making fun memories, and what better way to do that than drifting on the water in the arms of the one and only Colonel Sanders.”
You may have seen the KFC Colonel floatie. It was used in an advertisement for their Crispy Chicken sandwich and their current giveaway. Starring George Hamilton as the Extra Crispy Colonel, the ad shows him enjoying his extra crispy chicken reclining on his self-themed float.
KFC’s Colonel-Shaped Floatie giveaway: Visit KFC floatie.com today through June 22 to enter for a chance to win one of the limited-edition free floaties, which aren’t being sold or made available outside of this giveaway. Winners will be selected on June 23, and floaties will ship to arrive in time for the 4thof July weekend for most recipients. KFC is also partnering with Snapchat to create a World Lens that brings the Colonel to life in an augmented reality experience that enables users to live the Extra Crispy lifestyle with the help of their smartphone camera. Snapchatters can also enter to win a KFC Colonel floatie directly from the lens.
There are two options, the KFC World Lens or the KFC Face Lens.
