Anthony and Sons Avocado Bread Review

When we covered Anthony & Sons Bakery’s Avocado Bread Company in 2024, the idea was straightforward: work avocado into familiar bakery staples and see whether the result offered something beyond the novelty.

Avocado Seeds & Grains Bread

The Avocado Seeds & Grains Bread was the centerpiece of the lineup we tried. The loaf combined avocado with grains including sunflower and oats, plus seasoning that gave it a savory edge. The avocado did not turn the bread into guacamole on toast; it was still recognizably bread, with the added ingredients giving it a more distinctive flavor and texture.

At the time of our review, the company described the bread as vegan. Ingredients and formulations can change, so anyone buying it now should check the current package if that matters for dietary reasons.

More Than a Standard Loaf

The 2024 lineup also included dinner rolls, take-and-bake options, and ciabatta buns. That made the concept more useful than a single novelty loaf, especially for sandwiches or meals where a slightly different bread can do most of the work without changing the rest of the recipe.

Ben Rizzitello, then identified by the company as VP of Marketing, said, “We’re not just selling bread; we’re offering a lifestyle.” We were more interested in the practical question: does avocado bread make sense on the table? For us, the answer came down to its savory flavor and versatility rather than broad nutrition promises.

Our Anthony and Sons Avocado Bread Verdict

The appeal was simple: familiar bakery formats with an avocado-based twist. We liked the concept most as an alternative for sandwiches and everyday meals rather than as a product that needed a bigger health story around it.

Availability has changed since our original 2024 coverage, so check current local retailers rather than relying on the stores that carried the line at the time.
