Chocolate Snacks Review of Unreal and DEFI Superfood Bites

Ah, chocolate. That magical substance can turn a bad day into a tolerable one and a good day into something resembling nirvana. Naturally, when I got my hands on a pile of chocolatey snacks from Unreal and DEFI, I thought, “Oh great, another excuse to eat my feelings in the name of ‘research.’”

Let’s dive into the joy — and the judgment — of these treats.

Unreal Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars

At the time of our 2025 review, the package listed only three ingredients. In our tasting, the shredded coconut was sweet without becoming cloying, and the dark chocolate added a richer contrast. The Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars paired caramel, nougat and peanuts under dark chocolate in the version we tasted. These take a childhood-favorite format in a different direction. At the time of our review, the brand said the candy shell used colors including beet juice and spirulina. In our tasting, the crisp shell and peanut center gave these a satisfying crunch. The format also made them easy to portion for road trips or casual snacking.

DEFI Superfood Bites

My personal favorite was the Dark Chocolate Pink Himalayan Salt Crispy Superfood Bite. In our tasting, it combined a crisp texture with dark chocolate, noticeable salt and sweetness. At the time of our 2025 review, DEFI said it donated 1% of its profits to women-owned startups.

DEFI Milk Chocolate Crispy Superfood Bites

In our 2025 tasting, the milk chocolate version paired a sweeter chocolate coating with the same crisp center.

DEFI Dark Chocolate Crispy Superfood Bites

The dark chocolate version gave us a deeper cocoa flavor around the crisp center. Across the DEFI varieties, we enjoyed the contrast between the chocolate coating and crisp texture.
