GSI Outdoors Rakau Picnic Table Review

We reviewed the GSI Outdoors Rakau Picnic Table in 2022, and GSI still lists the compact bamboo table in 2026. There’s nothing quite like spending quality time with your loved one in the great outdoors. Whether it’s a trip to the beach, a hike in the mountains, or a relaxing picnic in the park, enjoying nature together is a wonderful way to connect and create special memories. However, outdoor activities can be challenging without the right equipment, and that’s where the Rakau Picnic Table from GSI Outdoors comes in.

Rakau Picnic Table Design and Portability

This compact and lightweight table is practical for outdoor dining. It’s designed to be portable and easy to set up, making it perfect for picnics, camping trips, and other outdoor adventures. The table uses a bamboo top with folding aluminum legs. GSI describes the bamboo as a practical outdoor surface that also doubles as a cutting board.

Rakau Picnic Table Stability and Features

One of the best features of the Rakau Picnic Table is its stability. Unlike traditional picnic tables, which can be wobbly and uneven on soft or uneven surfaces, this table is designed to be stable and sturdy. Its folding aluminum legs create a raised surface for food and drinks, although the current GSI specifications do not describe the legs as independently adjustable, so reasonably level ground is still the best setup. The table even comes with two holders for your glasses, so you can enjoy a drink while you dine.

GSI Outdoors says it has been family-run since 1985. Its current lineup centers on camp kitchen and outdoor-living gear such as cookware, tableware, stoves, coffee gear, games and camp accessories. Whether you’re looking for outdoor games to play with your family, camping gear for your next adventure, or just some fun and practical accessories to take on a picnic, GSI Outdoors has something for everyone.

In addition to the Rakau Picnic Table, GSI Outdoors offers a wide range of other outdoor products that are perfect for couples and families who love to spend time in nature. See the current Rakau Picnic Table page for present specifications and availability. The Rakau table is most relevant for families who want a raised surface for meals without packing a full-size folding table.
