Home Chef Gabby’s Dollhouse Meal Kits Review

I never thought I’d utter the phrase “Gabby’s Dollhouse for dinner,” yet here we are because apparently, the world has decided that kids’ streaming shows and my weeknight meals now share a kitchen. At the time of this review, Home Chef had partnered with Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie for a limited-time, four-week menu. It’s part meal kit, part fever dream, and- dare I say- actually kind of fun.

The idea was simple: family-oriented recipes tied to the Gabby’s Dollhouse promotion. Home Chef’s lineup included dishes such as Gabby’s One-Pot Turkey Lasagna Noodle Slide. Because this was a limited-time collaboration, the current menu and availability may be different now.

What We Tried From the Gabby’s Dollhouse Menu

Since curiosity usually wins out over common sense, I tried a couple of the recipes- because who doesn’t want to eat something inspired by animated cats in a dollhouse?

CatRat’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich

First up was CatRat’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich, with crispy chicken, dill pickles, sweet potatoes and russet oven fries on a brioche bun. In our meal, the tempura coating came out notably crunchy, and the brioche bun gave it a richer feel than a basic weeknight sandwich. My only complaint was the portion of pickles. If CatRat’s as clever as he looks, he’d know that you can never have too many.

MerCat’s One-Sheet Sweet Teriyaki Salmon

Next came MerCat’s One-Sheet Sweet Teriyaki Salmon. In our meal, the salmon cooked well with the carrots and broccoli, and the teriyaki sauce leaned sweet without overwhelming the dish. The sesame seeds added a finished look even though most of the work happened in the oven.
