Infiniti QX60 – It’s the Little Things

It’s the little things that make the Infiniti QX60. It’s not just one specific detail, but rather the combination of all these details that truly define the uniqueness of this car. It is actually quite amusing to think about. You might say that isolating or appreciating a single feature is like relying on luck when it comes to handling a car. But in the case of the QX60, it’s the seamless integration of all these individual features that sets it apart.

The overhead view camera is simply the best I’ve ever seen. It’s like having a satellite view of Google Maps right in your car. Whenever I have to park, there’s always a bit of apprehension, but this camera made it the easiest parking experience I’ve ever had. The clarity and quality of the camera are unmatched, and they even thoughtfully placed a large physical button within easy reach. Just a simple press with your right hand activates the camera system whenever you need it. It may seem like a small thing, but in reality, it made a significant difference in the ease of parking. In fact, when I had to return the car, I found myself missing this feature as I struggled to park my old faithful Town & Country, which I’ve had for over a decade.

In fact, you’ll see our main photo here is taken at a Sonic pull-up. I can barely do that in a regular car, but this had to be the easiest car I’ve had to park.

The CarPlay display in the QX60 is noticeably longer than what I’m used to seeing. It provides a spacious screen to display all the information you need without feeling overwhelmed. Everything you could possibly want is right there on the initial screen, eliminating the need for excessive navigation.

One aspect I particularly love is the physical center dial located in the middle of the car’s console. It functions almost like a joystick. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes incredibly easy to navigate through the car’s various options. Unlike touch screens that can be challenging to operate while driving, this dial offers a tactile response that ensures you’re hitting the right buttons. It may take a bit of getting used to, but once you do, it becomes an incredibly useful tool for flipping between stations or adjusting settings.

Another small yet significant feature is the one-touch button that folds the mirrors. While most cars allow you to fold the mirrors manually, the QX60 makes it effortless with just a single touch. Combined with the excellent camera system, this feature contributes to making parking a breeze. I must say, this vehicle has truly been one of the easiest to park in my experience.

The QX60 even projects both the speed and vehicle status onto the windshield, right in front of the driver. This ingenious feature adds an extra level of convenience and allows you to stay focused on the road without any distractions. This is yet another handy addition that demonstrates how all these little things come together to create a significantly enhanced driving experience.

Let’s not forget the built-in massagers in the seats. While they may not offer a full deep shiatsu massage, they provide just the right amount of relaxation to keep you awake and comfortable during long journeys. Having these massages readily available is another charming detail that contributes to a more enjoyable and stress-free ride.

Inside the QX60, most controls are physically present, rather than just relying on a screen. I absolutely appreciate the tactile response that the buttons provide, making it easy to determine if I’ve pressed the correct ones. There have been numerous studies showing that touch screens can be more challenging to operate and understand, so having physical controls is a definite advantage.

Furthermore, there is a dedicated climate control system and two separate plugs for electronics in the back. They even included a regular plug and a USB-C port. Additionally, the center console features an entire panel specifically designed for these controls. Even the sunshades in the back row add a thoughtful touch. Sometimes, kids in the back might feel like second-class citizens, but the individual built-in shades, the individual controls, and the well-designed tracks on which the seats slide give them a sense of importance and comfort. These extra details ensure that the second row doesn’t feel neglected.

In the case of the Infiniti QX60, it’s simply a well-designed car with meticulously crafted details that seamlessly come together. Each feature, from the overhead view camera to the extended CarPlay display, the intuitive center dial, the one-touch mirror folding, the windshield projection, the built-in massagers, the physical controls, and the thoughtful additions for the back row, contributes to an exceptional driving experience.

It’’s the combination of all these little things that make the Infiniti QX60 stand out. It’s the attention to detail, the convenience-enhancing features, and the overall thoughtful design that elevate the driving experience and set this car apart from the rest.

So, if you’re looking for a vehicle that excels in the small details and makes your journey a breeze, the Infiniti QX60 is a perfect choice. It’s a car that understands the importance of those little things that make a big difference.
