Laundry Finds for Home and Away

Laundry has an impressive ability to follow you everywhere. Stay home, and it becomes a mountain. Take a vacation, and it sneaks into your suitcase. Wear something for twenty minutes, and suddenly you are holding a shirt in front of your face, conducting an investigation nobody trained you for.

These laundry finds address two familiar situations: clothes that need a proper small wash away from home, and lightly worn pieces hovering in that awkward space between the closet and the hamper. Scrubba brings the portable wash bag; WashWise brings two versions of its Reset Spray. Neither has offered to fold anything, but negotiations are ongoing.

Scrubba Wash Bag: Laundry with a Smaller Footprint

The Scrubba Wash Bag puts a flexible washboard inside a lightweight, packable bag. That is the clever part: the textured interior gives it a purpose beyond being another waterproof pouch collecting lint at the bottom of your luggage.

The bag works manually and needs no electricity. Its design includes a transparent window, an air-release valve and a grip backing, and it can also function as a dry bag. It is built around small loads of clothing rather than the family’s entire collection of bath towels. Think travel essentials, not the aftermath of everyone deciding to change outfits twice.

The photographed version is bright green, with the internal texture visible through the packaging. Folded down, it looks much more at home among travel accessories than appliances. There is something satisfying about a laundry product that can come along on a trip without requiring its own baggage allowance.

For travelers, campers and people working with limited space, the appeal is the compact, self-contained format. A washboard may sound like an object from your great-grandmother’s house, but this one has apparently updated its passport.

WashWise Reset Spray in Cotton Grove

WashWise Reset Spray is aimed at the clothes that have had an outing without having an incident. The brand describes its water-based fabric spray as combining odor neutralization, light fabric cleansing and wrinkle relaxation for garments between washes. It is the category of clothing that usually ends up draped over a bedroom chair, waiting for a verdict.

Cotton Grove, pictured in a six-fluid-ounce bottle, lists white cotton, blonde cedar and green tea as its fragrance notes. That gives it a familiar laundry-inspired identity with a woody and tea-scented twist. The pale blue band keeps the otherwise white bottle easy to distinguish.

WashWise Reset Spray in Verde Rise

Verde Rise appears in the smaller 2.5-fluid-ounce format, with a green label and fragrance notes of fresh grass, sweet bergamot and cucumber. Its scent description heads outdoors, while Cotton Grove stays closer to the linen-cupboard mood. Two fragrances, two personalities, and considerably less guesswork than whatever scent the suitcase has developed.

WashWise calls Reset “dry shampoo for clothes,” a neat description of its place in the wardrobe. It is intended for lightly worn garments between laundering; the brand says it is not a stain remover or a replacement for washing heavily soiled clothing. The attraction is a dedicated option for the in-between pieces, with full-size and smaller formats represented in this photo.
