Editor’s note: This review covers the Sabra Buffalo Hummus Snacker collaboration as it appeared in 2024; current availability and packaging may differ.

Sabra’s Buffalo Hummus Snacker brings together Sabra hummus, Frank’s RedHot and Tostitos tortilla chips. Sabra still lists the 2.4-ounce Snacker today, alongside a larger Buffalo Hummus tub.

It is the kind of collaboration that requires almost no explanation. Hummus is the dip, Frank’s brings the heat and Tostitos handles transportation from container to mouth. Everybody has been assigned a department.

What Was in the Sabra Buffalo Snacker?

The product pairs Sabra Buffalo Hummus, flavored with Frank’s RedHot, with Tostitos tortilla chips in a portable snack format. It is designed as a convenient option for people who wanted a more substantial savory snack without assembling separate ingredients.

The concept was simple: creamy hummus for richness, hot sauce for heat, and tortilla chips for crunch. The combination also made the hummus feel less like a traditional Mediterranean-style snack and more like something that could sit comfortably on a game-day table.

The single container was the practical part. There was no need to buy a full tub of hummus and a separate bag of chips when what you actually wanted was one snack.

How It Compared With Regular Hummus Snacks

The biggest difference is the buffalo flavor. Traditional hummus snack packs tend to lean mild or savory, while this version adds a tangy, spicy profile that made it feel closer to a game-day dip than a basic lunchbox snack.

The Tostitos also change the experience compared with pita chips or vegetables. Tortilla chips are familiar territory for buffalo-flavored dips, so the whole combination felt intentionally snacky rather than virtuous.

The single-serve format makes it easier to pack for work, road trips, or casual outings. It also meant you could have buffalo hummus without committing the entire refrigerator to yet another open tub of dip.

How Spicy Was It?

The Frank’s RedHot connection made heat part of the point, but this was still a hummus snack rather than a challenge designed to make somebody regret their afternoon. The creamy base naturally gives the buffalo flavor some balance.

Anyone who already likes buffalo sauce should understand the general direction immediately. People who avoid spicy snacks altogether would be better served by one of Sabra’s milder hummus options.

Who Would Like It?

This combination was best suited to people who already enjoy buffalo-style flavors and want something more substantial than chips alone. It also made sense for anyone bored with plain hummus but unwilling to start constructing elaborate snacks during a workday.

What We Liked About the Sabra Buffalo Snacker

The Sabra, Frank’s RedHot and Tostitos collaboration is a clever way to combine three familiar flavors in one portable snack. Its appeal came from the contrast between creamy hummus, buffalo heat, and crunchy tortilla chips rather than from reinventing the category.

Sometimes a brand collaboration feels like a meeting that got out of hand. This one at least resulted in three things that already belonged together ending up in the same container.
