During our 2023 stay at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, The Table stood out as one of the resort’s most unusual dining experiences.
This was not a standard dinner with entertainment added on the side. The room, projections, performers, narration, music, and tasting menu were designed to work together as one show.
What The Table Experience Was Like
Guests sat around one long table while projections covered the room and dining surface. During our visit, folded napkins formed mountain shapes on the table, while jungle imagery and music helped set the scene.
The presentation followed a story about Mexican history and culture. Instead of simply watching a performance from across the room, diners were surrounded by the visuals and sound.
Storytelling and Live Performances
The show included dancers, narration, singing, and live music. Different elements appeared as the historical story moved forward, giving the dinner the feel of a theatrical production rather than a typical restaurant meal.
That format also made the experience easy to follow for different ages in our group. There was always something happening visually, even between courses.
The Tasting Menu
The food was built into the storytelling. Courses changed as the presentation moved through different periods of Mexican history, and the flavors and presentation were intended to connect with the part of the story being shown.
For us, that connection between the menu and the performance was the strongest part of The Table. The dishes did not feel like a separate meal happening during a show. They were part of the show itself.
How Long The Table Took
Our experience lasted about two and a half hours. That is worth knowing before booking, especially for families with younger children or anyone planning another activity afterward.
Despite the length, the changing projections, music, performers, and courses kept the evening moving. In our group, multiple generations stayed engaged through the full production.
Is The Table Worth It?
What made The Table memorable was the way everything worked together. The projections, live performers, music, narration, and food created something much more elaborate than a normal resort dinner.
It is best suited to travelers who enjoy experiential dining and do not mind committing a large part of an evening to one meal. If you simply want a quiet dinner, this is probably not the point.
