We reviewed the Astrum XZ Pia earbuds in 2024 as a premium wireless option built around a distinctive metal charging case and a long list of audio features. The strongest firsthand impressions were fast pairing, strong volume and bass, and a case design that looked unusual but took a moment to learn.

Sound and Wireless Features

The 2024 product information described a triple-driver design, Qualcomm Snapdragon aptX audio, cVc echo cancellation and noise suppression. In our use, the earbuds connected faster than other non-Apple wireless devices we had tried, and the sound had strong volume and bass. We found the overall experience competitive with AirPods Pro, though sound preference is subjective.

Case and Design

The earbuds came in a pearl finish with what Astrum described as a 14k gold-plated metal-alloy charging case. The case reminded us of a classic Zippo lighter and was the most distinctive physical part of the package. Opening it had a small learning curve—you twist and pull—but it became easier after a few uses.

Water Resistance and Everyday Use

Astrum’s 2024 specifications listed an IPX4 rating and support for voice assistants. Those ratings, compatibility details and other technical specifications should be confirmed against the current product listing before purchase.
