Brondell Pro Air Purifier Review

Brondell Pro Sanitizing Air Purifier

Why We Liked the Brondell Pro

My whole family deals with allergies, and my husband and son also have asthma. In our household, we felt more comfortable once we started running the Brondell Pro regularly. My husband even felt that he slept better with it running. That is our firsthand experience, not a medical claim, but it was the biggest reason the purifier stood out to us.

What the Brondell Pro Is Designed to Do

The Brondell Pro uses a multi-stage system that includes a pre-filter, an H12 HEPA-grade filter, a nanocrystalline filter, UV disinfection and plasma-based air sanitization. Brondell says independent aerosol-chamber testing found that the unit reduced at least 99.9% of airborne SARS-CoV-2 in the test conditions within 15 minutes. That laboratory result should not be read as a guarantee that the purifier prevents illness in a home.

Brondell Pro Certifications and Testing

Brondell lists multiple certifications and independent test reports for the Pro. The current product documentation includes CARB certification and an EPA establishment number, along with other testing and certification references. The important distinction is that an EPA establishment number is not the same thing as EPA approval of an air purifier, so the earlier wording on this page has been corrected.

How Often Do You Change the Filter?

Brondell currently lists the replacement interval at about 8 to 12 months, depending on use.

Does the Brondell Pro Produce Ozone?

Brondell says the unit’s plasma and air-sanitization system is designed to operate without generating harmful ozone. As with any air-cleaning device, it is worth checking the current manufacturer documentation if this is an important concern for your household.

How Much Space Does It Cover?

Brondell lists coverage up to 1,655 square feet at one air change per hour. Its documentation also gives smaller-room figures for more frequent air changes, including about 827 square feet at two air changes per hour and 413 square feet at four air changes per hour.

Is It Bulky?

We found it easy enough to move around and not especially cumbersome for a full-size air purifier. Brondell lists the unit at about 19.2 pounds.

What Is the Warranty?

Brondell currently lists a limited three-year warranty for the Pro. Warranty terms can change, so buyers should confirm the current policy at the time of purchase.

How Much Does It Cost?

When we tested the Brondell Pro in 2022, the listed MSRP was $699. Current pricing is different and can change with promotions, so the manufacturer or retailer is the better source for today’s price.

Brondell Pro Air Purifier Review Verdict

For our family, the Brondell Pro was most appealing because of its large-room coverage, multi-stage filtration and the way it fit into everyday life in a household that deals with allergies. I would not treat an air purifier as a substitute for medical care or public-health guidance, but as an air-cleaning appliance, this one gave us some peace of mind.
