DJI Power 1000 Portable Power Station Review

The DJI Power 1000 is a 1024Wh portable power station designed for home backup, camping, mobile work and charging high-power devices. We tested it in 2024 with outage preparedness in mind, and the core appeal remains the same in 2026: substantial AC output, fast charging and flexible recharging options in a relatively compact box.

DJI Power 1000 Capacity and Output

DJI currently lists the Power 1000 at 1024Wh with up to 2200W continuous AC output. That is enough for many household electronics, tools and campsite devices, though actual runtime depends on the connected load and operating conditions.

The unit also includes two USB-C ports that support up to 140W each when paired with compatible PD 3.1 devices and cables.

Recharge Speed

One of the Power 1000’s strongest features is recharge speed. DJI says a full AC recharge can take about 70 minutes under its stated test conditions, with an 80% charge reached in about 50 minutes.

That makes the unit easier to cycle between uses than slower portable power stations, especially when you are preparing for travel or a possible outage.

Solar and Car Charging

The Power 1000 supports solar charging with DJI’s compatible accessories and can also be recharged from a vehicle using supported car-charging hardware. DJI has expanded its accessory ecosystem since 2024, including faster car and solar charging options.

For families thinking about backup power, that flexibility matters because grid charging is only one part of the equation during a prolonged outage or road trip.

Battery Chemistry and Longevity

DJI uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells in the Power 1000. The company currently rates the battery for up to 4,000 cycles under its stated test conditions and describes an approximate 10-year service life with regular use.

Those figures are laboratory-based estimates rather than guarantees of identical real-world performance, but LFP chemistry is a meaningful advantage for a product intended to be recharged repeatedly over many years.

Noise and Everyday Use

DJI rates the Power 1000 at about 23 dB while charging in its standard mode under test conditions. In practical terms, it is quiet enough to use indoors without the noise profile associated with a gasoline generator.

At roughly 13 kg, it is portable but not something most people will want to carry long distances casually. We found it manageable for moving between a porch, vehicle and indoor storage area.

Outage Preparedness

Our 2024 testing was shaped by firsthand experience with Hurricane Sandy and the value of having backup power available. The Power 1000 can support essential devices during outages, but it should be planned around realistic loads rather than treated as a whole-home generator replacement.
