Photographer Nicole Rochelle is based in Huntington, Long Island and her black and white shots bring the raw emotion of Covid right to the surface. Nicole is a mom who is trying to make the best of Covid and looking at her feed, these seem to be her best photos that came out of it.
We choose the top-10 shots from her below but you can see, they’re simple but they also bring up the pain and frustration we are all going through with the Covid Pandemic.
On her website she has the following quote:
I shoot like I’m photographing friends because it feels good to work this way and I know it shows in the end result- that is always what I’m going for.
When you see her photos, you can feel that emotion. I love that they’re taking very simple moments but with the extra effort of black and white they come across with a raw emotion.
Definitely follow her work if you’re interested in photography or just the human experience. Nicole also primarily does weddings and boudoir shots but I for one am hoping she keeps going with this photo journalistic black and white style.
