Minute Rice Cups 2023 Flavor Launch Review

In 2023, Riviana Foods introduced new flavors across its Minute® Rice Cups and Instant Rice lines. We tried several of those launches as quick side dishes. As of September 2026, Minute Rice still lists Butter & Sea Salt Jasmine, Spanish, Cilantro & Lime Jasmine Rice Cups, and Instant Basmati Rice in its current product lineup.

Minute Rice Cups Flavors

The 2023 Rice Cups lineup included Butter & Sea Salt Jasmine Rice, Spanish Rice and Cilantro & Lime Jasmine Rice. The cups were packaged for single servings and designed for one-minute microwave preparation.

Butter & Sea Salt Jasmine Rice

The Butter & Sea Salt Jasmine Rice had a fluffy texture and a mild buttery flavor with a light saltiness. It worked well as a simple side dish when we wanted something fast without additional preparation.

The Spanish Rice had a seasoned flavor with a noticeable blend of herbs and spices. The aroma was noticeable during preparation, and the seasoned profile made it a more assertive option than the Butter & Sea Salt variety.

The Cilantro & Lime Jasmine Rice came in a bi-pack format. The cilantro and lime gave the jasmine rice a brighter, more citrus-forward flavor than the other varieties we tried.

Minute Instant Basmati Rice

In addition to the Minute Rice Cups, I also tried the Minute Instant Basmati Rice. It cooked in about five minutes and had a light, fluffy texture with a mild fragrance, making it a straightforward side dish for quick meals.

Overall, the strongest feature across the Minute Rice products we tried was convenience. The varieties differed in seasoning and flavor intensity, but all were designed around quick preparation.
