Pumpkin Spice Pop-Tarts and Fall Snacks

Pumpkin spice has a remarkable ability to appear everywhere once fall arrives. We tried two seasonal snacks in 2024 that took very different approaches: Pop-Tarts Frosted Pumpkin Pie went straight for sweet nostalgia, while RXBAR Pumpkin Spice offered the brand’s familiar dense, chewy bar with an autumn twist. Seasonal products and formulas can change, so current availability may differ.

Pop-Tarts Frosted Pumpkin Pie

Pop-Tarts Frosted Pumpkin Pie delivered exactly the seasonal flavor the name promised. The filling leaned sweet and pumpkin-forward, with cinnamon and other warm-spice notes against the familiar frosted pastry.

They worked toasted when we wanted a warmer snack, but the real advantage was the usual Pop-Tarts convenience: open the foil and eat. It is difficult to argue with breakfast that requires roughly the same preparation as opening mail.

RXBAR Pumpkin Spice

RXBAR Pumpkin Spice took the same fall idea in a chewier direction. The bar combined pumpkin-spice flavor with the dense texture we associate with RXBARs. Its 2024 label listed 12 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, but nutrition information and ingredients can change, so check the current package if those details matter to you.

For us, the interesting part was whether the seasonal flavor worked. The dates and nuts gave it plenty of chew and texture, while the spice profile made it feel distinctly fall without turning it into a dessert bar.

Which Fall Snack Would We Choose?

The Pop-Tarts were the sweeter, more nostalgic choice. The RXBAR was denser and more substantial. They were really solving two different snack problems, assuming pumpkin spice qualifies as a problem that needed solving.
