We tried Saltyface’s sunless-tanning lineup in 2024. The products are designed to create the appearance of a tan without sun exposure; this review is about our experience with the products, not a claim that they treat sensitive skin, acne, eczema, rosacea or other skin conditions. Formulas, prices and availability can change, so check the current product label before buying.
Saltyface Tanning Water
The Tanning Water is made for facial application. In our experience, it was an easy way to add gradual-looking color without spending time in the sun. In 2024, Saltyface marketed the formula with botanical ingredients including aloe vera and cucumber. Ingredient sensitivities vary, so anyone with a skin condition or known sensitivity should review the current ingredient list before use.
Saltyface Tanning Foam
The Tanning Foam is the body-focused option we tried. We liked the straightforward application and the ability to control the result through how the product was applied and developed. Saltyface’s directions should be followed for the current formula rather than relying on the timing or instructions from our 2024 test.
Saltyface Basic Tanning Set
In 2024, the Basic Tanning Set bundled the Tanning Water with application accessories, including a mist top and tanning brush. The brush was useful for keeping the product off our hands and making application easier. Because bundles and pricing change, check Saltyface’s current lineup for what is included now.
Our Saltyface Verdict
For us, Saltyface’s biggest appeal was convenience: it provided a sunless way to add color with products and applicators that were simple to work into a routine. We would not treat the brand’s skincare-oriented marketing as medical guidance, particularly for eczema, rosacea, acne or sensitive skin.
