Our January 2025 coverage looked at a Sandeman Founder’s Reserve limited-edition canister created with Lisbon-based street artist OzeArv. The release paired Port packaging with a contemporary artwork titled Synergies of a Family Tree (Sinergias de uma Árvore Genealógica).

Sandeman’s launch materials described OzeArv’s design as a visual family tree connecting the brand’s history with a more contemporary view of Port. The central figure in the artwork holds a glass of Port and carries Sandeman’s “Don” symbol as a tattoo.

Heritage and Artificial Intelligence Theme

The artwork also addressed the relationship between people and artificial intelligence. As Filipe Gonçalves, Chief Marketing Officer at Sogrape, said, “Synergies of a Family Tree not only celebrates our heritage and the tradition of Port wine but also projects a future where human beings and artificial intelligence coexist and complement each other.”

Sandeman’s launch materials also referenced the company’s long history of artist collaborations and the development of the Don imagery. Those historical details are preserved here as part of how the brand presented the release rather than as a reason to treat the limited edition as current.

At the time of our coverage, the Founder’s Reserve limited-edition gift box was described as available in select U.S. wine and spirits shops at $24.99 for a 750mL bottle. That price and availability were launch-period details and may no longer apply.
