Tequila CAZADORES Café was the bottle that stood out to us in this lineup because it takes tequila in a distinctly coffee-forward direction. The 2023 range also included CAZADORES Añejo Cristalino and Extra Añejo.

What is Tequila CAZADORES Café?

CAZADORES Café combines 100% agave CAZADORES Blanco tequila with roasted coffee and agave nectar. The result leans into coffee, vanilla and chocolate notes rather than tasting like a conventional unflavored tequila.

For serving, it makes the most sense as a chilled sip, over ice or as the tequila component in an espresso-style cocktail. Readers interested in another tequila tasting can also see our Mayenda Tequila Blanco review.

CAZADORES Añejo Cristalino

The Añejo Cristalino is aged in new American oak barrels for a year and then filtered to remove its color. The profile described for the bottle includes mellow wood and green apple notes while retaining characteristics associated with an añejo tequila.

CAZADORES Extra Añejo

The Extra Añejo spends at least three years in virgin American oak barrels. Its flavor profile includes vanilla, cinnamon, roasted apple and dried fruit, making it the richer and more oak-driven option among the three 2023 bottles.

How CAZADORES describes its production

The brand traces its tequila-making history to Arandas in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, and says its tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. CAZADORES has also highlighted efforts to reuse production byproducts and reduce waste at its distillery.

Its production process includes harvesting mature agave, extracting the agave juice, fermentation and distillation. One of the brand’s more unusual talking points is the use of classical music during fermentation. Those process and sustainability details are manufacturer claims rather than findings from our tasting.

Which CAZADORES bottle is the most distinctive?

For us, Café is the most unusual of the three because the coffee character changes both how the tequila tastes and how you are likely to use it. Añejo Cristalino is the cleaner aged option, while Extra Añejo is aimed more squarely at drinkers looking for deeper oak and spice notes.

Bottom line

If you already enjoy coffee-flavored spirits or espresso cocktails, CAZADORES Café is the bottle in this trio worth noticing first. The aged expressions offer more traditional tequila profiles, but Café is the one that gives the lineup a clear point of difference.
