The weather is perfect in San Francisco for an outing with your pup! Local resident and founder of Puppy Mama, Theresa Piasta has put together a fantastic list of SF spots to enjoy with your fur baby! Her book, Raising a Doodle, shares more stories and advice for dog parents.
1. Spark Social
Grab your pup, family and friends and enjoy some wine, sangria, beer or even Rosé for Yappy Hour at Spark Social! This food truck park is not only dog and kid friendly, it is also the pawfect hang out spot!
2. EPIC Steak
EPIC Steak is not only one of the finest restaurants in San Francisco, but it is also one of the most welcoming to our four legged friends! Well-behaved dogs are welcomed on EPIC’s spacious lovely outdoor patio overlooking the San Francisco Bay Bridge, and are even served water bowls!
3. Embarcadero Walk
Walk along San Francisco’s downtown waterfront, and visit the various dog parks and restaurants with outdoor patios along the way! And, have your phone camera app ready! There are many beautiful locations to take selfies and photos for your dog’s Instagram account!
4. Enjoy a Glass of Wine on an Outdoor Patio in the Marina
From heated outdoor restaurants to nearby dog parks, Chestnut Street is a dog parent’s dream come true! Cheers to Yappy Hours!!!
5. Crossroads Cafe
Enjoy your coffee or lunch in a beautiful outdoor garden and meet many of the neighborhood pups! This will quickly become one of your pup’s favorite SF spots!
6. Head to the Beach
From small to large dogs, SF pups seem to have one big thing in common: they LOVE Ocean Beach!
7. Picnic at Mission Dolores Park
Enjoy a relaxing weekend afternoon on a grassy hill with a spectacular city view!
8. Westfield Mall SF
Would you go shopping if you didn’t have to leave your pup behind?!? Then head to Westfield Mall in Downtown SF! Well-behaved pups are allowed to shop too and are often greeted at the stores’ entrances.
9. Fort Funston
Hike beautiful trails overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Fort Funston. Although this is a great dog-friendly park with beautiful vistas, be careful! The National Park Service warns dog parents to avoid the bluffs and cliffs.
10. Barks & Brews
Many of the breweries in SF will let your pup join you! If you like beer, go enjoy an afternoon at Harmonic Brewing in the Dogpatch.
