The Vitamix Ascent A2500 is a beast of a blender. It is a powerhouse and the kind of blender that I’ve been hoping for.
Let’s start this review with one of the basic concepts. A blender by nature has to do one thing which is spin repeatedly to make your food products extremely small. My descriptor is probably longer than the process requires, as a blender spins really quickly.
I say this all because I’ve seen and reviewed some kitchen devices which seem to be designed as if they are elaborate machines doing so much more than the basic task at hand. This is where the Vitamix Ascent A2500 excels in that it retains its simplicity and throws anything extra to the app. If you want it to blend faster or slower, there’s a basic dial. There’s the blender, there’s the container, and there’s the dial.
However, if you’re looking to make things more elaborate, the Vitamix Ascent A2500 is Bluetooth-ready and can immediately connect to your cell phone. The app is where it moves things to a more elaborate level. It’s not even that the app is that complicated, it’s just more features than the dial itself.
If you want to send over a recipe from the app to the blender, you can do it easily on the app. Maybe you wanna make nut butter, or maybe you want to grind spices. Whatever the case the app will tell you.
On the other hand, if you’re old school, then you could turn the dial and go to town that way.
The beauty of this blender is its simplicity. The beauty here is that if you want a more or less complicated machine you could have it. But at the most rudimentary level, it knows what it is. It is a powerful and strong blender.
