Bonchon Fried Chicken

The chicken had a notably crisp exterior while remaining moist inside during our meal. The drumsticks were large, and the seasoning carried through beyond the sauce. This was the dish we would order again first.

Signature Sauces and Kimchi

The sauce added sweet, savory and spicy notes without immediately softening the crust. Kimchi supplied a sharper, fermented heat that contrasted well with the fried chicken. Heat tolerance varies, so ask about current sauce options if spice is a concern.

The potstickers were plump, juicy and coated in a flavorful sauce. Bonchon’s broader menu also included items such as bulgogi fries and tteokbokki during our visit, offering alternatives for a group that did not want only chicken.

The chicken portions made sharing practical for our group. Even my Italian grandmother preferred Bonchon’s chicken to the other fast-casual fried chicken we compared it with, which says more about our family’s experience than a universal ranking.

Bonchon worked best for us when we focused on the crisp chicken, kimchi and potstickers. It provided a different flavor profile from standard American fried chicken while remaining approachable for a mixed group.
