Great Wolf Lodge

Family. Fun. Adventure; three really important words and one simple answer: GREAT WOLF LODGE!

13 fun options across this fabulous United States from Pennsylvania to Washington and we checked out the lodge closest to our house nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. This is your true family getaway. Everything under one roof: no need to leave for meals, fun or relaxation. It is all inside the lodge in one fun filled package.

You pull up and feel instantly transported into a rustic log cabin complete with a beautiful fire place (perfect for the family photo op I may add). After a quick check in process you can check out your new “digs”; we chose the “wolf den suite”, but there are so many affordable options from standard to premium. Our room had a little private getaway for the kiddies and just the cutest bunk beds on earth. Mom and dad had some privacy and the kids have the ultimate sleepover experience. Other rooming options feature fireplaces, “kid kamp tents”, whirlpool suites and options for families of all sizes.

Now I didn’t even mention the hugest selling point of the Lodge: their “always 84 degrees” indoor water park featuring thousands of square feet of aquatic fun. There is simply something for everyone: for kids under 48 inches they have their own little water park with lots of water action. There is “Crooked Creek” an awesome family lazy river with tubes for solo or shared action. Don’t forget to check out the water filled treehouse with levels and layers of water fun. Just watch the bucket overhead: it tips once full and boy that’s a big splash! For the older kids and adults there are to quote my son “AWESOME” slides. We tried out the The Double Barrel Drop and the Hydro Plunge together; I’ll admit I found myself screaming like a child going down the turns and drops. There really is so much more, water activities, pools, more slides than you can handle and of course outside water options in warmer weather. My family literally spent the entire day in the water!

Once everyone was dry, we took a chance at our “Magi Quest” skills. Grab your very own wand, battle dragons and put your magic skills to the test. Here is the best part: the wand is yours to keep and you can bring it back the next time you visit to continue your adventure. The Northern Lights arcade is home to great video games and old school skee-ball. Earn prizes based on the number of tickets you collect. Need more: there is a bowling alley and glo golf course sure to keep your attention. My daughter LOVED Scooops, the ice cream shoppe style spa perfect for pampering after your water park fun. We indulged in the perfect mommy and me pedicure! The Great Wolf Characters are hanging out in the lobby at various times through the day; our family topped off the day with a dance party in the lobby before bed.

Hungry? Restaurant options include The Loose Moose Cottage (my kids made their own waffles: BIG BIG hit) or the Camp Critter Bar and Grille open for breakfast lunch or dinner. Other options include pizza, starbucks, bear paw sweets and eats and of course Grizzly Rob’s Bar in the water park.
