Love Stallion’s Top 10 Bars in Denver
I stopped in Colorado on my way to Los Angeles in 2008, and I never left. Even after traveling all over the US & Europe, Denver is still my favorite city. It has grown so much in the last 10 years, and now has an incredible art, music, and bar/restaurant scene. I love my music and my cocktails, so if I’m out and about, I am likely at one of these awesome places:
1. The Block Distilling

Home of the “Love Stallion” and “Valentine” cocktail, and host to the “Valentine” video release, The Block has been a huge supporter of the band. They are great people and distill all their own liquor in-house. Their first batch of whiskey is out soon!
2. O’Dell Brewing RiNo Brewhouse
Colorado beer in a large converted historic warehouse, including a rooftop patio with views of Denver’s hottest neighborhood. Always a fun vibe and plenty of events like music, euchre tournaments, pairings, and more.
3. Retrograde

This sexy speakeasy is hidden behind the best ice cream shop in town, Frozen Matter. Super creative cocktails in low colorful lighting, with vintage movies and velvet-covered booths.
4. Brown Palace
The historic Brown Palace is a magical place with an impressive liquor cabinet. My friend John Kite heads up the piano & jazz tunes in the atrium 4-7p, and then piano in the Ship’s Tavern after 8p.
5. Cuba Cuba

Authentic Cuban food in a converted historic Victorian house. Sit on their huge indoor patio with a view of the city, and order the plantain chips with guacamole, vaca frita, and a pitcher of mojitos.
6. Roosevelt’s
This classy downtown cocktail bar was one of the sets in the “Big Rock Radio” music video where Miosoti and I meet (and flirt with the awesome bartenders Ash & Isaac). Smells of mahogany and leather-bound books.
7. Steuben’s

Comfort food & bougie cocktails with a retro vibe in the heart of Uptown. Enjoy the fresh air with their classic daiquiri when they open the garage doors to the patio on good weather days.
8. Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox
https://www.opheliasdenver.com/
Eccentric live music venue in a building with a dirty past. Reserve a 2nd-floor seat, grab a drink, and enjoy the show on the 1st-floor stage.
9. The 1Up Arcade Bar
https://www.facebook.com/The1UPArcadeBarColfax/
Cheap drinks, live music, and KISS pinball!
10. The Tatarian
https://www.thetatarian.com/
Inspired by the history of the Berkeley neighborhood, where the city would gift a shade tree to new landowners. Incredibly creative (and boozy) cocktails in the Tennyson Art District.
