In March 2023, I had a PRP facial at Manhattan Laser Spa. Cosmetic procedures can involve risks and may not be appropriate for everyone. Discuss suitability, expected results, and aftercare with a qualified medical professional.

What is a PRP facial?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. The procedure begins with a small blood draw, followed by centrifugation to separate a platelet-rich portion of the plasma. In the treatment I received, that plasma was then used alongside microneedling.
PRP is used in different medical and cosmetic settings, but results can vary and claims around skin texture, collagen, scarring, or fine lines should be discussed with a qualified provider rather than treated as guaranteed outcomes.

My experience at Manhattan Laser Spa
I went to Manhattan Laser Spa specifically to try a PRP facial. Before the procedure, the staff walked me through the process and applied a numbing cream to my face. I found the microneedling portion somewhat uncomfortable, but not painful for me.
Afterward, my face was noticeably red for a few hours. I was given aftercare instructions, including avoiding direct sun exposure and harsh skincare products for a period of time.
What I noticed afterward
Over the following couple of weeks, I thought my complexion looked brighter and had more of a glow. That was my personal experience, not a guarantee of how someone else will respond.
What to consider before booking
PRP and microneedling are medical-cosmetic procedures, so it is worth asking about provider qualifications, contraindications, infection-control practices, expected downtime, aftercare, and realistic outcomes before deciding whether to proceed.
