When I was younger, I can’t think of any of my friends that didn’t have at least five different nerf guns. Half my childhood memories consist of nerf wars in my friend’s basement, or even running around the block and playing a nerf manhunt. Half of those memories, however, consist of finding and picking up ammo. There was nothing worse than being in the middle of an intense battle and realizing you have to start playing hide and seek because you have no more ammo. And it was even worse when you had to sacrifice a precious 30 minutes of childhood memories to clean up a sea of nerf bullets every time just to do the same thing over and over again after each battle. Back then, it was “nerf or nothing,” but now, gel blasters have changed the game.
If I had these gel blasters when I was younger, I’m not sure if I would have ever put them down. Instead of foam bullets that you found on the floor for years, these gel blasters shoot tiny “gellets” that are merely tiny water-based balls of gel made of starch and water. The gellets will burst on impact and start to evaporate immediately! Less cleaning, more playing! Not only do they shoot at a much higher speed for more exciting battles, but you can also actually adjust the power and firing rate of the blaster. A little sting is all you feel, even when shot at point-blank range at the highest setting.
I am 19 now and haven’t played with nerf guns for a long time. But my friends and I have been using these gel blasters every day since I got them and I have not had this much fun in years!
