Debbie Zinman was always searching for ways to expose her children to the needs of their community and to get them excited about giving of themselves. Alison Smith was intent on not being the “scrooge of birthday parties” but was tired of spending her weekends shopping for endless birthday gifts. In 2008, they joined forces to change the face of birthday parties for good with ECHOage, an online tool that simplifies the party process for parents and also involves children on a more meaningful level and allows parents to invite and manage guests, helps raise money for party hosts to receive substantial, lasting and treasured gifts that they really want and love, and helps kids raise funds to support a charitable cause, creating an “even more memorable” event.
