This might be my absolute favorite product review opportunity to date exploring Amazon’s Kindle Fire (Kid’s Edition complete with 1 year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited and a wonderful Kid-Proof case) and the amazing independent publishing opportunities that authors have through Independent Publishing . For the e-book digital option Kindle Direct Publishing http://kdp.amazon.com is free and allows publishing of your book with ease. Within a day, expect to see your book on Amazon sites and they offer multiple language options. The best part is you are writing and creating what you love and collecting up to 70% of the royalties. http://createspace.com offers you a print option. You peruse the free tools to create, publish and distribute your book (affordable marketing and editing options are available) and once again are offered distribution throughout Amazon sites. Please keep in mind that Amazon also offers 24/7 assistance, preview options for the sale of your book and they handle the order fulfillment process. If you are a writer please check out these great options to collect some pretty impressive royalties all while being at home and raising your children!
This past December, Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) ran a “KDP Kids Media Roundtable Breakfast” in NYC. It is super impressive to have access to children’s book authors to learn all about their writing process and use of the KDP process. Author Ally Nathaniel is truly my hero and a “mom-trepreneur” in that she has made a full-time business of writing and publishing books using these self-publishing platforms. Nathaniel has written a beautiful series of books that feature characters such as “Emma” who happily share what makes them happy and will help build confidence within your own child. I truly enjoyed sharing this book with my daughter. Nathaniel has made her way to becoming #1 best seller on a few of her books and her guide “The 6 Steps Plan to e-Publishing: How To Publish In Kindle Format and Market Your Kindle Books with Amazon” can help you through the process as well. Nathaniel will inspire your inner creative genius.
Also super impressive are husband and wife team E.G. Foley who managed to land themselves on the New York Times Best Seller List in their collaboration that truly keeps their audience captivated. They have two amazing series “The Gryphon Chronicles” (historical fantasy adventures) and “The 50 States of Fear” (short spooky tales that take place within our 50 states). I am half way through Book One of the “Gryphon Chronicles” and even as an adult I am hooked to the storyline! E.G. Foley are my heroes in creating and publishing their own collaborative hits!
Carole P. Roman, author of “Captain No Beard” is a true inspiration as she writes from true family inspiration. Direct publishing has become a second career for Roman; many of her books feature her children/grandchildren. It is truly awesome to see a fellow mom work in her family business and in addition write/publish her own award-winning books!
