Things we love: Tenth Street Hats

There’s one trend that we love this summer and it’s a good-looking hat. At Famadillo, one of our favorite brands is Tenth Street Hats – a family-owned business based out of California that still creates accessories the old-fashioned way.

Founded in 1921 by Jack Dorfman and Arthur Hyman (as part of Dorfman Pacific), the name came from the original warehouse where the hats were created on 10th Street and Broadway in Oakland, California.

For almost 100 years, the brand remains an important part of the Northern California community and that’s because they still use a rare hat-making machine that are practically one-of-a-kind. With the goal to create a hat for their consumers that will make them look (and feel) good, Tenth Street Hats is the way to go.

Tenth Street has over 70 men and women’s styles that cater to sun protection. Whether you’re heading to the beach or just doing errands around town with the kids, a Tenth Street fedora, straw hat or piece that has UPF 50+ built in is a great way to go.

They can be worn for casual backyard events, or jazzed up for something more formal. Long story short – they’re a great addition to any closet for mom or dad.
